Freedom from EHP
and Stunted Growth

EHP damages the gut and causes nutrient malabsorption and stunted growth. EHP spores can remain viable up to 6 months and retain infectivity for more than a year under aqueous conditions.

1

Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP)

Damaged gut, nutrient malabsorption and stunted growth. Gut damage and desquamation due to Vibrio PIR toxins; weak immune system and establishment of vibriosis infection.

2

Associated Effects

White Muscle Disease (WMD), White Feces Syndrome (WFS) and Soft Shell Syndrome. Found in slow-growing shrimp and shrimp with mortality associated with WFS.

Six Benefits
for Producers

Reduced disease risk, optimal FCR, better production, successful harvest, indirect cost benefit and total confidence for the shrimp producer.

01
Risk Reduction — reduces the risk of EHP disease and vibriosis.
02
Optimal FCR — no stunted growth, which keeps the FCR high.
03
Better Production — improves growth for better production.
04
Successful Harvest — normal growth continues and allows a successful harvest with a good count.
05
Cost Benefit — the cost benefit is indirect, as the producer harvests as in a normal cycle.
06
Total Confidence — confidence of having no losses due to EHP and vibriosis infections.

Validated Across More
Than 180 Acres

Field trials across more than 180 acres in 6 different locations on the south coast of India demonstrate the consistent performance of Vetra Stabil AQ.

Reduces WFS Risk
Reduces the risk of White Feces Syndrome and microsporidiosis.
Improvement in 5 Days
The best cases of ponds with stunted growth improve after five days of treatment and generate a good harvest.
Effective at Any Age
Effective at different animal ages (from day 7 to harvest).

Allows the producer to continue the culture with routine use of VETRA STABIL AQ.

Prevention
and Treatment Doses

The feeding program is designed to cover both routine prevention and active treatment in case of outbreaks, adapting to the needs of the culture cycle.

Recommended Dose

Alternate feeding — prevention and treatment.

Prevention
2.5 g
per kg of feed
Prevention
Alternate feeding from day 5 (DOC) to 45 days DOC.
Treatment
5 g
per kg of feed
Treatment
Alternate feeding for two weeks.

Mode of Use

01 — Weigh the dose: weigh 2.5 g (prevention) or 5 g (treatment) according to the indicated program.
02 — Dissolve in water: dissolve 2.5 g in 50 ml of water, or 5 g in 100 ml of water, before mixing with 1 kg of feed.
03 — Mix with feed: mix the prepared solution with 1 kg of feed evenly.
04 — Dry and supply: dry for 30 minutes before supplying to the pond.

VETRA STABIL AQ Works
in EHP-Infected Animals

Reduced size variability of animals in the control tray and improved PCR results following treatment with VETRA STABIL AQ.

Key Results
1. Untreated ponds, found positive for EHP at the same location, showed stunted growth.

2. The pond treated with VETRA STABIL AQ showed no size variability and disease-free growth.

3. Feed consumption of the treated group improved and recovered body weight.

4. Treated animals were found free of WFS.
PCR Results & Observation
Infected animals — PCR data: positive for EHP, with size variability and stunted growth observed in untreated ponds.

Treated animals — PCR data: improvement in PCR results, reduced size variability and recovery of normal growth after treatment with VETRA STABIL AQ.

Context, Impact
and Analysis

A field report covering the context of the study, its economic impact and the profitability analysis for shrimp producers.

1. Context
Producers want to protect their ponds from EHP and vibriosis infections. Farm cost and income are evaluated with the prevention of losses due to stunted growth from microsporidiosis. The aim is to give the producer confidence to minimize the risk of financial losses from stunted growth and White Feces Syndrome.
2. Impact
The study provided the confidence that helped the producer evaluate the economic impacts of stunted-growth risk and losses that can be minimized with this therapy. It also identified the market opportunity that the product gives confidence for a disease-free culture to prevent vibriosis problems.
3. Analysis
Profitability is calculated based on how long the culture was maintained after preventive application of VETRA STABIL AQ. Harvest is the producer's sole decision; the research team calculated the risk assessment. Overall data show producers are free of stress from EHP, stunted growth and vibriosis.
